If the player does not allow such a restoration, and a ball set in motion as a normal part of the shot touches such an unrestored ball, or passes partly into a region originally occupied by a disturbed ball, the shot is a foul, and the player does not execute a legal stroke.

Sneaky Petes

Other balls, which may be colored, are called object balls. Any other object balls disturbed on the stroke are also to be replaced to their original positions before the shooter replays. The ball rests within the corner pocket and past the nose of the head cushion, or; the ball contacts the foot rail more than once. At the exact middle of the table starts the blue ball 5, and yet further down the pink one 6, followed by the red balls, touching each other and placed in a triangle behind the pink, and finally the black ball the white cue ball can be placed anywhere inside the d the semi-circle behind the baulk line, although it is normal for players to start by placing the ball on the line, between the brown ball and either the green or yellow ball.
